Mining Engineering and Management

Managing Mine Contracts

This two-day workshop focuses on the setting up and managing of mining contracts. You will learn how to establish a profitable and realistic relationship with a contractor and how to run it effectively. All aspects of operational contracts are covered, including contract documents – various types and important issues to address; the tender process, including preparation of tender documents, risk allocation, selection of preferred tenderer and post tender negotiations; and how to minimise potential conflict.

Whittle Optimisation and Strategic Planning Workshop

This is a highly individualised workshop, so we will not be able to accept more than 4 delegates on each workshop. This three-day workshop on Whittle Optimisation and Strategic Planning is designed to give delegates the skills needed to optimise resource models for open pit mining projects. Time will be dedicated to the use of the software as a strategic mine planning tool. Data examples will be supplied, but delegates are requested to also bring their own data to work on, so that individualised guidance and assistance can be given while working on their own data.
